Organic Pomegranate Juices – Are They Really Organic?

We always keep track of market, we listen our customers, their complaints about market and comments on Turkish exporters.

Unhappily, we hear a lot of complaints from our customers and also from honest Turkish producers.

As you may know, pomegranate is a very nutritious fruit which grows in mostly Turkey and Iran. Iranian products have lighter color, and quality is also lower if you compare with Turkish pomegranates.

We export this product to Europe and US as %100 Pure organic / non-organic pomegranate NFC (not from concentrate) juice and %100 organic / non-organic pomegranate juice and they are all only Turkish origin.

However, we hear that some exporters (we are not allowed to give names -sorry) mix black carrot juice or apple juice to pomegranate products, or sometimes send customers Iranian origin products without informing them just to reduce prices.

Because of customers do not make any analysis on products, those exporters just found this trick to gain more money. From our side, it causes unfair competition, sometimes our customers say “we get this product from Turkey for a cheaper price” and at first, we really could not understand how can it be possible.

After making a research, we understood that they send Iranian pomegranates as Turkish, or mix black carrot / apple juices.

As a result, we strongly recommend you to be careful while importing pomegranate juice or pomegranate concentrates.  Be sure that you are buying %100 Pomegranates (if they say so) and it is Turkish origin product. Ask for analysis, to avoid any trick, work with internationally recognized inspection companies like SGS and be sure about you pay for a product you requested.
