Turkish committee completed their estimation for 2016 crop after 16 days of study at grape vineyards.
Official crop size for Turkish raisins is estimated as 313.134 tons with ±5% error margin.
This year sugar content is higher, berries are smaller in general and crop seems to be earlier if weather conditions in grape vineyards remain dry.
We can say quality is good in general, growers were aware that Chlorpyrifos should not be used at all and there are improvements about pesticides as well.
Unfortunately, growers are not happy with the prices and it looks like they will resist selling their goods at these levels. Their resistance may remain if their quality is good (it will depend on the weather conditions) as they will be more motivated.
