New crop shipments of Turkish Dried figs will start on September 26th, 2018 (earlier than previous years because of early fruit development) and we are very excited for the new season.

This year our Dutch subsidiary Bata Food B.V. started taking forward orders to be delivered from our stocks in Rotterdam – customs cleared, duty paid in Europe with full set of analysis.

Our new crop stocks in Rotterdam will be available on 2nd or 3rd week of October so feel free to book your needs now!

We of course continue to offer pallet quantities, mixed loads or full loads direct from Turkey to all over the world. We’ll be very happy to receive your inquiries.

DRIED FIGS MARKET UPDATE NEW CROP 2018

In August 2018, Aegean Exporters Association estimated Dried Figs Crop 2018 as 80,000 MT, which showed that crop size is almost same as the previous year.

The main problem this year is nearly 30,000 MT of the figs are industrial quality – due to very high temperatures and humidity (also causing higher aflatoxin) on August followed by heavy rains.

As it is harder to find a good quality figs, raw material prices doubled in local currency, but very weak Turkish Lira repressed this high increase so prices are more or less the same on US Dollar basis – compared to previous crop prices.

We are seeing a very high price difference between 1st and 2nd quality figs which is really confusing buyers in the market. We suggest everyone to be careful about the quality of figs offered to them and be cautious if you see offers out of the market price range.
